I'm sure we'll be warp-driving all over the place soon enough, but in the meantime it's nice that the "old school" folks are getting the ion engine technology put to bed.
How better to launch this blog than with an article reporting on research into a "hyperspace" engine? This makes ion engines (even twin ion engines -- sorry Darth -- seem positively old school). I especially love the bit in here that points out that the speed of light is faster in other dimensions. This came as news to me. Good thing I didn't (consciously at least) structure too many aspects of my life in reliance on a constant speed of light across all dimensions.
